Sterilization experiments in Auschwitz
In the context of medical research on human subjects (medical crimes), experiments involving the sterilization of human beings were conducted in Auschwitz. The objective was to develop a procedure for sterilizing large groups of people unobtrusively, quickly, and permanently, in order to prevent the spread of "inferior life" ("minderwertiges Leben"), in accordance with the beliefs of the Nazis' racial ideology.
